Getting help with LTC

LTC is in Early Access. The most useful thing you can do is tell us when it is wrong.

What LTC does

LTC watches, on your device, for the moment a website asks you to accept, allow, subscribe or agree to something. When it sees one it works out which terms govern that decision, reads them, and shows you what could work against you, what works in your favour, and the exact passage behind each finding. It never presses a button for you.

Installing it

Everything currently available is on the install page, which shows the real status of each browser rather than a button that does not work yet. While the Chrome, Edge and Firefox listings are in review you can also use the check page, which does the same analysis on terms you paste in.

Permissions, and why

LTC does not request the scripting permission, does not read your browsing history, and does not run any code downloaded after installation.

Privacy

Remote analysis is off until you turn it on. With it off, everything happens on your device. With it on, LTC sends the site’s domain, what kind of consent it is, measurements of the buttons, and links to that site’s own published policies — not the page, not its text, not its URL. The exact list is in the privacy notice.

Reporting a wrong result

Every LTC card has a feedback row: Helpful, Missed something, Wrong and Site broken. Those send the category and the page’s domain and nothing else. If you want to send the passage LTC misread, it asks you first and shows you what it would attach.

You can also email support@ltc.maib.io. Tell us the site, what LTC said, and what it should have said.

Reporting a missed term

This is the most valuable report we get, and the hardest for us to find on our own. If you read an agreement and found something important that LTC did not mention, send us the site and the clause.

If LTC breaks a website

It should not — the LTC signal renders inside a closed shadow root and contributes no layout shift — but if a page misbehaves, use Site broken on the card, or pause LTC for that site from the LTC popup. Uninstalling stops everything immediately.

Uninstalling

Remove it the way you remove any extension: right-click the LTC icon and choose Remove, or open your browser’s extensions page. Everything LTC stored on your device goes with it.

Deleting your data

If you never created an account, there is nothing on our side to delete: the extension keeps its settings locally and the check page does not store what you paste. If you did create an account, your privacy page exports or deletes everything.
